Student Support Director

Siembra Leadership High School is currently seeking to fill their open Student Support Director position.

Job Overview

Siembra Leadership High School is an APS start-up charter in its seventh year of operation. We are hiring for one of the three pillar director positions - Siembra’s student support leader. This position is comparable to an Assistant Principal or Dean of Students position at a traditional high school. In our unique model, a pillar director position is a dynamic on-site schoolwide leader. We are seeking an authentic, passionate, dynamic and inspiring leader who will demonstrate commitment to improving education for students and families through student support, community engagement and project-based learning. We value creative and energetic leaders who have an enthusiastic approach to leadership development, as it applies to self, staff, and students. Candidate(s) for this position will be prepared to lead in innovative practice to best serve young people.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Supervision/leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of resources for family and student support in the Albuquerque community
  • Stellar analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Five years experience working with youth
  • Level III-B school administrator license through the NMPED or commitment to obtain
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, public health or related field
  • Ability to lead for social justice
  • NMPED level III social work or teaching license or commitment to obtain

Preferred Qualities

  • Bi-lingual/bi-cultural
  • Previous experience as a Principal, Assistant Principal or Dean of Students at the High School level
  • State of New Mexico clinical (LCSW) or independent (LISW) licensure through the State of NM
  • Regulations & licensing board
  • Master’s degree in social work, education, public health or related field
  • Experience in criminal legal/juvenile justice system(s), child protective services or mental health setting
