Required Skills

Minimum Requirements: Have or be able to acquire a NMPED license allowing you to teacher social studies at the high school level.

Current essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop your instruction around the NM state standards and incorporated Common Core State Standards into your instruction.
  •  Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
  •  Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
  •  Utilize both formative and summative assessment data in order modify instruction as needed.
  •  Participates in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and documentation when appropriate.
  •  Communicates regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress and behavior within the class.
  •  Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the student.
  •  Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices.
  •  Completes all District required paperwork and documents.
  •  Follows health and safety practices and regulations.
  •  Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  •  Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
  •  Performs other related duties as assigned.
