Add to Calendar

Join Albuquerque Public Schools and One Generation Fund for our inaugural College Night, as part of our "Being A Good Relative" Native American Student Success Initiative. This is the first of several college-focused sessions that will be held for Native students and families in the 2024-25 school year. This hour-long session will provide an introduction to the College Application Process, Financial Aid & Scholarships, How to Write A College Essay, Interviews & Recommendations, and Native American Student Resources.

Dinée Dorame will be facilitating all of the College Nights and bringing in additional partners/experts on occasion. She is an alumna of Albuquerque Public Schools (Montezuma ES, Jefferson MS, Albuquerque HS). She graduated from Yale in 2015, where she later served as an admissions officer and coordinated Native American Outreach and Recruitment for several years. She also previously served as the Associate Director of College Horizons, a national non-profit supporting Native students in their pathway to higher education. She is now working with One Generation Fund on various education-related projects.

All high school students are welcome.  However, juniors and seniors are strongly encouraged to attend!  Please RSVP here if you plan on attending.  It is not required to RSVP, but helps with planning.  Both students and parents are welcome to attend this event.  Here is a flyer.   This is a collaboration with "One Generation Fund" and APS.
