Summer Cultural Enrichment Program is FULL!
The Indian Education Department is having a summer cultural enrichment program at Valley High School this year. It is extremely popular and all the classes are full. The GradPoint program which offers classes for high school students who need to make up credits for graduation is being offered this summer and still has openings for eligible students. Indian Education and Indian Parent Committee Meeting May 20, 2021
All Native parents of APS students are invited to join this committee meeting to hear what is happening in the department and share their comments and concerns.
Chief Manuelito Scholarship Information
The Office of Navajo Nation Scholarship and Financial Assistance (ONNSFA) is requesting nominations for the 2021-2022 Chief Manuelito Scholarship. Navajo seniors are required to meet all eligibility criteria prior to graduating high school. ONNSFA will review the high school transcript for cumulative grade point average (GPA), corresponding ACT/SAT test score, must earn 1 unit of Navajo Language and 0.5 unit of Navajo Government. Weighted GPAs will be used for high schools that include the information on the final transcript. The Chief Manuelito Scholarship was established in 1980 by ONNSFA to provide merit scholarships to qualified Navajo students who excel academically. The estimated award of $7,000.00 for the 2020-2021 academic year will be awarded early July 2021.
