ACTSO WorkshopACTSO (Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics) wants to invite students to a drawing and painting workshop at Cibola High School. If you like art, love to draw, love to paint, or just want to learn, come join in the fun.

Drawing: Learn the basic composing and free hand sketching techniques

Painting: Learn blocking techniques and how to paint what you see.

Availability: The class is available to high school students from 8-12th grade from all artistic backgrounds.

Needed Materials:

  • Smock (or equivalent)
  • Various-sized charcoal pencils (or compressed charcoal sticks)
  • Kneaded eraser

Attendance: Send an email to with the following:

  • Your name
  • Your interest in fine art
  • Your grade (in school)

ACTSO It is a  non-profit educational outreach program. There are five broad areas of ACTSO: Science, Humanities, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Entrepreneurship.

Students in grades 8-12 will have an opportunity to display their talent in a local contest. High school students can also compete at the national level.

The ACTSO workshops represent an endeavor to help students improve their talents whether or not they compete.
