2025 NMAA State Esports Championship Finals

The 2025 NMAA State Esports Championship Finals will be held at Berna Facio Professional
Development Center April 10 – 12, 2025. Here, esports students from 90 schools around the
state will participate in this annual event with overall champions crowned in 5 different
classifications (top three in each class receive trophies). Championship medals will be awarded to all students who win each game title tournament, and medals will be given for 2nd – 4th place, as well. The APS Berna Facio Complex has been home to the State Esports Championships since the in-person semis/finals started in 2022.

This year the finals will feature 9 games – the same titles from 2024 with the addition of one
new one – Street Fighter 6. There will also be the addition of two Unified Esports matches, one in Rocket League and one in Mario Kart.

In 2021, ECA and La Cueva took top honors in the state, in 2022 and 2023, ECA and Del Norte took top honors, and in 2024, ECA and La Cueva took top honors in the state. This year, 15 APS Schools participated in Esports with the following schools competing in the season and in semi-finals: Albuquerque HS, Cibola HS, Del Norte, Early College Academy, Eldorado HS, Freedom HS, La Cueva, Manzano, Sandia, Rio Grande, Volcano Vista, and West Mesa. Finals matches will take place on stage at Berna Facio with competing schools to be determined with the combination of points earned. APS Schools who will be competing at the event are Del Norte, La Cueva, Albuquerque HS, Sandia HS, Manzano and Eldorado.

• Thursday, April 10 will feature League of Legends, Hearthstone, and Rocket League
• Friday, April 11 will feature Street Fighter 6, NBA 2K24, Madden NFL 24, and Splatoon 3
• Saturday, April 12 will feature Super Smash Bros, and Mario Kart.
