APS Medicaid Enrollment and Grant MS present a health fair for the whole community which features a variety of healthy supports for all! These include Covid and middle school required vaccines, free tablets for those already on Medicaid, snacks/drinks and door prizes! This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

Do you need support for you or your APS student? Need to see if you qualify for reduced-cost or free healthcare, food stamps, or other extra support?

This free community event is open to everyone and will be held on Saturday, April 8th, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Grant Middle School, located at 1111 Easterday NE. This fair features support for those in need and will include health education, prizes, free snacks, and more! APS Medicaid Enrollment will be on hand to answer any questions about your insurance status, pre-qualify you, and/or make appointments for a later date.

This event will also include Covid vaccines, take-home kits, and required shots for ALL APS students (bring shot records if applicable). Free tablets are available to those already on Medicaid (one per household; the activation fee is now waived for APS health fair attendees)! APS Medicaid and our local health partners are excited to host this very special health fair and community event!  Stop by and check it out!

Event Details

  • A variety of healthcare supports, including local vendors, APS Medicaid, Vitalant Blood Drive, Irish Music Band, Road Runner Food Bank, Build Your Own First Aid Kit, SeedCorps Nutritionist, Nature Ninos Archery, YMCA of NM, Smoothie Bike, raffles, prizes, & more! (bilingual staff also available).
  • BeWellNM Representatives provide information on financial assistance and education for affordable health insurance options.
  • Free tablets are available on-site to those who are already on Medicaid (one per household; the $11 activation fee is now waived at APS Medicaid events only!)
  • COVID and Flu shots/vaccines (see below for more info)
  • Information about Medicare and other supports
  • Health resources and information
  • Prize giveaways from vendors
  • "Grab & go" snacks and refreshments!
  • and much more!

Covid & Flu Shot Clinic Information:

RX Innovations and Best Buy Drugs will be participating in this event, administering COVID-19 tests (Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax) and giving out at-home tests, plus ALL APS school-required vaccinations, as well as HPV.

No insurance or ID required, No need to register. Bring appropriate shot records as needed.

Who Will Answer Questions and Provide Support?

  • Presbyterian and Western Sky Community Care
  • Local healthcare providers and organizations
  • A Medicaid specialist will also be available to help with questions regarding Medicaid options.
  • Medicare specialist will be on hand to assist

This is a joint Grant MS and APS Medicaid-coordinated event for the whole community. “Because health-related issues can be barriers to learning, APS is working on ways for students and families to be healthier,” said Brian Bolding, Medicaid enrollment coordinator in the APS Student, Family, and Community Supports Division. “We at APS believe that a healthier student is a more successful student.”
