Take photos of wildlife in your neighborhood and beyond, and help the Albuquerque area compete against 485 cities worldwide.

City Nature Challenge ABQ invites everyone in Bernalillo, Sandoval, and Valencia Counties to explore nature in and around your community and share your observations from April 28th to May 1, 2023. Help us compete against cities all over the world!

How to Participate

  1. Set up an account on iNaturalist.org or in the iNaturalist app, and join the CNC ABQ 2023 Project.
  2. Take and submit your photos of animals and their signs (tracks, scat, feathers, etc.), plants, and fungi that you find during the challenge.
  3. Help identify others’ observations, and have iNaturalist and its community help you, thru May 7th.

City Nature Challenge is an annual global collaborative effort to find and document wildlife observations in and around urban areas, organized by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and California Academy of Sciences. Join nature enthusiasts worldwide while discovering the biodiversity in your area.
