Civil rights based discrimination and harassment violate federal and state laws and APS policies, Procedural Directives and Employee Standards of Conduct. EOS is responsible for investigating and responding to complaints of such violations.
Civil rights based harassment and/or discrimination complaints can be based on:
- Sex (gender), gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual harassment
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Spousal affiliation
- Race, color, ethnicity, or national origin
- Age (over 40)
- Religion
- Veteran status
- Disability or serious medical condition or HIV status
- Or retaliation for complaining about civil rights violations or participating in a civil rights investigation.
The Office of Equal Opportunity Services (EOS) does not have jurisdiction over:
