Tickets Still Available for the 2019 Gold Bar Gala

The APS Education Foundation’s signature event will be held Friday, March 22.

The APS Education Foundation’s Board of Directors, volunteers, and staff invite you to join them for a night of recognition that raises funds for educator-led innovative programs in Albuquerque Public Schools.

The event takes place at Sandia Resort & Casino on March 22 and is close to sold out. Now is the time to purchase your tickets to join a room full of people passionate about education and improving student outcomes.

Selfless Seniors

The event recognizes the 2019 Selfless Seniors, students who have given back to their schools and communities through acts of service. Selfless Seniors represent the philanthropic spirit of the APS student body and inspire the community at large to look outside themselves, help those less fortunate, and champion a cause.

Hall of Honor

The Gold Bar Gala is also where the Foundation formally inducts two outstanding educators who left a legacy with the district into the APS Hall of Honor. This year, Margaret Clark and David Ostrovitz will be inducted, and guests will learn about their deep impact on education in Albuquerque.

Oustanding Corporate Partner

The Foundation also recognizes an Outstanding Corporate Partner for the year. This year, the Foundation will honor Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico for their continuing support of the district and its families and their increase in financial support of innovative, hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs.

Best in Class

The event culminates in the announcement of the 2019 Best In Class Winner. Best In Class nominees are grantees that have implemented successful programs funded by the donors of the APS Education Foundation. Additional funding is available to grow these programs so more students can benefit from the opportunities these programs provide. The Best In Class Winner is decided by a community vote and will receive $15,000 in funding to grow their innovative program. This year’s nominees are programs from Collet Park Elementary School, Kennedy Middle School, and Eldorado High School.

Voting is now open.
