Nominate for Selfless Seniors, Hall of Honor

The APS Education Foundation honors trailblazing educators and philanthropic youth. Deadline for Selfless Seniors nominations is Oct. 18. Deadline for Hall of Honor nominations is Oct. 31.

With students back in class for the fall semester, many of us are thinking about the work ahead in the academic year.  The APS Education Foundation has opened their fall grant cycles so that educators across Albuquerque Public Schools can apply for funding.  The grants will provide needed resources to innovative educators ready to launch new programs with the potential to improve student outcomes.  Donations from the community make the grants possible.

In the spirit of innovation and philanthropy, the Foundation is asking for nominations for two special recognitions during the school year.

In innovation, the Foundation seeks nominations for the APS Hall of Honor.  APS Hall of Honor inductees are trailblazers who have had a distinguished career with the district that has resulted in a positive change for both students and employees.

In philanthropy, the Foundation seeks nominations for the philanthropists of tomorrow – students who are giving back to the community today.  Through volunteer efforts, Selfless Seniors help their school and larger community without recognition.  In partnership with Frank Frost Photography, their stories will be shared in the spring semester to provide inspiration to give back and to give hope for a brighter future.

If you know of an educator who has changed lives and the district for the better or a senior in high school that works behind the scenes to make days brighter, please nominate them today.  Two APS Hall of Honor inductees and fourteen Selfless Seniors will be honored at Gold Bar 2020 on April 17, 2020.

Deadline to nominate a Selfless Senior:  October 18, 2019, 5:00 p.m. MST

Deadline to nominate an APS Hall of Honor inductee:  October 31, 2019, 5:00 p.m. MST
