Student of the Week: Rory Claussen

What do you like about school:

 I like my classes and teachers, especially the science department and MCJROTC program. I shoot on the air rifle team and often get to travel to competitions. 

What is your favorite class: 

My favorite class is forensics at CEC. We do a lot of hands-on work, and the material is really interesting. I like being able to apply basic sciences like biology and chemistry to the real world.

Activities and hobbies: 

I am the executive officer for my JROTC program, a member of the precision air rifle and color guard teams, and in the National Honor Society. Outside of school, I like to run, rock climb, read and do crafts. I enjoy being a lifeguard at the pool too.

Plans for the future:

I hope to attend the University of Alaska - Fairbanks, to study marine science.
