Student of the Week: Marina Henderson

12th Grader at Manzano High School

What do you like about school:

I’ve always just liked the routine of school and going to classes, but this year especially, I love seeing my teachers and friends. Those connections and relationships have really meant a lot to me this year. 

What is your favorite class: 

My favorite class is English because I rediscovered how much I like the art of writing and being expressive, thanks to my teacher. I decided to take more advanced English this year and found out that even though it’s a lot of work, it’s pretty fun, and I love what we learn. 

Activities and hobbies: 

I’m on my school's cross country and track teams, but I also have a job outside school. I like to hang out with my friends, siblings and cousins, go roller skating, and even sometimes do art or read. 

Plans for the future: 

I’m planning on going to college to study education because I want to become a teacher, hopefully. My goal is to make the world a little brighter for as many people as possible.
