Student of the Week Madison Garris

8th grader at Harrison Middle School

Nusenda Credit Union, in partnership with the APS Education Foundation, highlights an APS student each week.

What Madison has to say: I have always been an outgoing kid, but when I came to Harrison, I feel like I have opened up a lot more. At Harrison, I have made many relationships that I feel will last a lifetime. Lastly, all the teachers at Harrison are very passionate about teaching and making sure everyone gets a great education.

Hobbies and interests: My hobbies and interests include competing in archery competitions. I really enjoy shooting bows & arrows. I really hope to start bow hunting soon. I am also a very passionate volleyball player. When I play volleyball I feel like I am on cloud nine! The excitement I get from playing volleyball is like no other therefore I love playing volleyball with my awesome teammates, win or lose. I also really enjoy Student Leadership. In my school’s student council I have done many things. For example,   my peers and I have started a recycling program at Harrison and I feel recycling is very important because every little thing that we could do to help save the planet, we should at least give it a shot. I am Harrison’s Student Body President. My future goals would have to be bringing everyone closer together.
