Nusenda and APS Education Foundation Team Up for EA Scholarships
12 APS educational assistants received the $2,500 scholarship.
The Nusenda Educational Assistant Scholarship is for APS EAs seeking to be teachers through a higher education plan to receive teacher certification. This scholarship is designed to provide financial support during student teaching.
This year's $2,500 scholarship was awarded to 12 EAs:
- Jodi Campbell, Ventana Ranch Elementary School
- Evangelina Del Cid, Rudolfo Anaya Elementary School
- Cezanne Dockstader, Albuquerque High School
- Lacey Gatewood, Mitchell Elementary School
- Brandon Glasscock, Sandia High School
- Kasey Griffith, Zuni Elementary School
- Kadence Kirkendall, La Mesa Elementary School
- Sawyer Krivanek, McCollum Elementary School
- Maritza Molinar Rodriguez, East San Jose Elementary School
- Claudia Saucedo, Lowell Elementary School
- Danielle Swope, Cleveland Middle School
- Cynthia Torres, Mountain View Elementary School
Five of the recipients are bilingual -- four in Spanish and one in Bahasa Indonesia. Ten are focusing on elementary education, and two are focusing on secondary education.
Nusenda's roots are in education. They work with community partners to ensure that educators are supported and students get the help they need to succeed.
This scholarship is intended to be offered again next year, opening in December 2022. Check the APS Education Foundation website for more information.
