Horizon Campaign Gets $9,000 from Lovelace, Bank of Albuquerque

Local businesses recognized this week by Board of Education for supporting APS teachers and students.

LovelaceBank of Albuquerque and Lovelace Health System have once again stepped up to help Albuquerque Public Schools.

Both organizations were honored during this week’s Board of Education meeting for their support of the APS Education Foundation’s Horizon Campaign, which supports  grants for teachers twice a year.

Bank of Albuquerque contributed $4,000 to the effort; Lovelace added $5,000. Their participation is critical to the success of the Horizon Awards, said Foundation Executive Director Phill Casaus.

“It’s no surprise that Lovelace and Bank of Albuquerque are partners with the kids, teachers, administration and support staff,” Casaus said, “because they’ve been key to what’s going on this district for a long time.”

The board and Superintendent Winston Brooks recognized Bank of Albuquerque President Bob Lehman and Lovelace Community Relations Coordinator Renee Gurule.

Applications for the spring cycle of Horizon Awards are available on the Foundation’s website.
