Get Your Tickets Now for Gold Bar 2020

The event has been rescheduled for Friday, May 1.

The APS Education Foundation is set to host its signature fundraising and recognition event, Gold Bar. Named for the memorable peanut butter and chocolate treats once offered in school cafeterias, the banquet honors excellence in Albuquerque Public Schools while also giving guests the chance to make the future brighter for APS students by investing in innovative programs. Many project-based, hands-on learning opportunities would not be available to students without the community’s support.

Gold Bar 2020 will feature the Foundation’s 2020 Best In Class nominees. These Foundation grantees provided resources and opportunities to their students with past funding and have the potential to grow their programs to reach more students in new ways.

With Frank Frost Photography, the Foundation will recognize the 2020 Selfless Seniors for their dedication to improving their school and community. The Foundation is also honored to induct two individuals into the APS Hall of Honor and recognize the 2020 Outstanding Corporate Partner.

To learn more about this year’s honorees, please visit the Foundation's website.

Sponsorships are still available, including Exclusive School Table Sponsorships, in which the sponsor’s table will be decorated with the APS high school colors of their choice. Exclusive School Table sponsors will host that high school’s Selfless Senior and guests as well as the principal. Top sponsors of Gold Bar 2020 include Frank Frost Photography, Comcast, TIG, Sound and Signal Systems of New Mexico, Nusenda, Pepsi, Promethean, Wells Fargo Bank, and Sandia Office Supply.

Jasy Shiparksi, Regional Operations Manager for Technology Integration Group (TIG), serves on the Foundation Board of Directors. Both as a representative of TIG and the Foundation Board, she works to spread the word on the importance of investing in our schools and learning more about those investments through events like Gold Bar. She states, “TIG is proud to again present Gold Bar 2020 along with Frank Frost Photography and Comcast. TIG has the fortune of being inside Albuquerque Public School classrooms every day, where we see innovative and passionate educators working hard to prepare our students for the world ahead. Gold Bar provides that same inside look for the community and aims to share many of the magnificent stories that are taking place right here in our schools. If you have ever wondered what is happening in education, this event will no doubt convince you that the future is bright! I know I speak for many when I say Gold Bar is a must-attend event, and we are excited to share the stories that are shaping a future that benefits everyone.”

The annual event will showcase student talent through live performances and will feature many fun ways in which guests can participate in the Foundation’s mission of investing in innovative and enhanced learning opportunities to help APS students reach their full potential.
