Back-to-School Grants Available

Apply now. Deadline is Sept. 10.

The APS Education Foundation invites all APS elementary, middle or high school staff members -- including teachers, educational assistants, librarians, counselors, and social workers -- to apply for a 2019-2020 grant. APS departments are also eligible to apply. 

Applications are now being accepted for the fall period. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Up to $100,000 available per grant program!

Grant applications in the following areas will be considered:

Horizon Award

  • Grants for classroom STEM, Fine Arts and Literacy projects that enhance or expand curriculum
  • Teachers may apply for up to $1,500 (single classroom) or $5,000 (multiple classrooms)

Achieve Award

  • Grants for school clubs, student organizations/student groups, and out-of-school time programs
  • Must be an APS school-sponsored club, organization or activity to apply
  •  Project may receive up to $10,000

Guhl Literacy Award

  • Grants for elementary schools (PreK-5) and APS departments working with elementary school programs
  • Projects must serve a large number of elementary students and advances early literacy in a measurable way
  • Eligible schools may apply for $15,000-$35,000

Success Award

  • Grants for school-wide, multiple grade-level programs supporting academic excellence and success for all students
  • The maximum grant award is $25,000
