2020-2021 Teacher of the Month Recognition Kicks Off with Drive-Thru Celebration

Congratulations Priscilla Doyle, a resource/math strategies teacher at John Adams Middle School

Pepsi and the Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation kicked off the 11th annual Teacher of the Month recognition with a drive-thru celebration on Friday, Oct. 2, at John Adams Middle School.

For more than a decade now, the Foundation has randomly selected one APS school each month during the school year, and that school’s principal or staff chooses a teacher to be honored. The teacher receives a $100 check from Pepsi and acknowledgment on the APS website, Facebook page, and electronic billboards. In their fourth year, Flying Star Café is recognizing teachers by donating a gift card.

The first teacher to receive the honor for the 2020-21 school year is Priscilla Doyle, a resource/math strategies teacher at John Adams Middle School. Doyle first learned that she had been named September’s Teacher of the Month on Monday, Sept. 28, during a virtual staff meeting where she was surprised with a video:
