Deadline - March 8, 2024

Awards to qualifying Educational Assistants shall not exceed $3,500. The Educational Assistants (EA) Scholarship is focused on assisting EA’s who are seeking a teacher certification through a higher education plan.

The scholarship is to provide funding to EA’s who typically do not qualify for the state funded program during their student teaching.

Criteria for Funding

The scholarship(s) will be given to Educational Assistants who:

  • Work for APS traditional and magnet schools.
  • Plan to teach for APS after receiving their teaching certificate.
  • Have a need for funding, and do not qualify for the state funding program.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the scholarship, must be currently employed APS Educational Assistants (EAs).

Scholarship Components

The scholarship will support EA 1 and EA 2, online degree programs which include:

  • EA 1 – Approximately two years of higher education and needs at least 60 college credits.
  • EA-2 – Approximately one to one in half years of higher education and has a bachelor degree but not teaching credentials 

Please Note

  • The scholarship(s) will be awarded throughout the APS district on an as-needed basis.
  • The scholarship can be denied if appropriate documentation and information are not provided.  
  • The scholarship can be awarded either fully or partially, depending on the request.
