APS Facility Rentals

Albuquerque Public Schools welcomes community groups to utilize our facilities. To assist you in this process, we use an online scheduling tool for renting facilities such as school classrooms, gyms, cafeterias, theaters and grass athletic fields.

The web-based process not only eliminates paperwork but also allows schools and the district to track events and account for usage expenses.

How to Reserve Space

Those interested in reserving space in a school or other APS building can go online to check availability and to fill out a request form. The requests will route electronically through an approval process and updates will be sent by email, reducing the amount of time it takes to process requests.

  • We do require that any request be submitted a minimum of 2 weeks in advance to provide school administration more time to review requests.
  • The online program also has some handy features that will help coordinate custodial, security and other event set-up services, and also helps collect usage fees.

Scheduling Priorities

Community users must be aware that school-sponsored and extracurricular activities take precedence. It may be necessary, on rare occasions, for a school to "bump" another scheduled event. In these cases, we will provide you with as much notice as possible.

Submitting New Requests

The facility use website will be closed to community requesters every year during June for schools to enter their calendar events for the upcoming school year.

Note: Organizations that have past due invoices with either APS or Rio Rancho Public Schools will not be permitted to submit new requests until balances have been paid.

Important Updates

  • Facility use rates will be increasing for SY 2021-2022. New rates can be found on the Fee Schedule page. 
  • Community organizations will be able to login to the APS facility use system and submit requests beginning July 1, 2021. Youth sports participants who have not been vaccinated will be required to wear masks.
  • City of ABQ Park and Rec department will resume scheduling of elementary and middle school fields for fall 2021 after July 1.
  • High school fields will remain offline to community use for the remainder of the summer. APS Police will be patrolling and trespassers will be asked to leave.
