This semester, Mrs. Marquez, special education teacher at Manzano High School, and her remarkable student interns have been working on an exciting new business, creating freeze-dried candy! This hands-on project not only allows students to explore their entrepreneurial skills but also promotes teamwork and creativity within the classroom.
Under Mrs. Marquez’s guidance, the students have taken full responsibility for the entire candy-making process. From freeze-drying a variety of sweets to packing and labeling each treat. Students also play a crucial role in the distribution process. All candy is sold at Manzano school events and games through the DECA program, giving students a taste of real-world business operations.
This initiative not only adds a fun element to the classroom but also empowers students by showcasing their hard work and talent. Kudos to Mrs. Marquez and her incredible students for their fantastic efforts!
