On December 5th, the CCL crew had the incredible opportunity to join Sandia High School's humanities classes for their American Ancestor Day. Over 140 students from the humanities and Pro-Smart (culinary arts) programs dressed in 1700s-style attire and hosted a grand lunch featuring both traditional and modern takes on dishes from that time. The students worked hard not only preparing the lunch but also creating beautiful decorations that truly captured the 18th-century feel. The menu included cream corn, cornbread, stuffing, mac and cheese, pumpkin cupcakes, Red Lobster biscuits, a charcuterie board, ham, apple cider, and iced tea all made by Sandias Pro-Smart classes.
