On September 27, 2024, Educators Rising Teacher Leaders Miskee Blanter from the Career Enrichment Center and Christine Beverly from Del Norte High School brought their students to the APS City Center for a Junior Achievement Job Shadow event. Junior Achievement, an educational nonprofit that helps equip students with entrepreneurial thinking and personal career strategies, regularly collaborates with the CCL team to provide students with opportunities to explore future career paths.
During the event, students explored how APS operates as a school district, exploring departments that may not typically be on their radar. Students toured the APS City Center towers and later broke into small groups to further explore individual departments. Additionally, students had the chance to meet with district leaders such as District 3 Board Member Danielle Gonzales, Deputy Superintendent of Leadership and Learning Dr. Antonio Gonzales, and Superintendent Dr. Gabriella Blackey.
A big thank you to all the staff who took time out of their day to help out!
