Hundreds of New Mexican Students Explore Career Opportunities From Around The State

On March 25, 2025, students from across New Mexico gathered at the Berna Facio Professional Development Center for a day dedicated to career discovery and hands-on learning. Hosted by the APS Educational Foundation in partnership with Career Connected Learning, the event welcomed hundreds of students from public schools across the state to explore the many career opportunities available in New Mexico.

On March 25, 2025, students from across New Mexico gathered at the Berna Facio Professional Development Center for a day dedicated to career discovery and hands-on learning. Hosted by the APS Educational Foundation in partnership with Career Connected Learning, the event welcomed hundreds of students from public schools across the state to explore the many career opportunities available in New Mexico.

The event was designed to spark inspiration and help young people envision life beyond high school. Throughout the day, students connected with professionals across a wide range of fields—including the skilled trades, healthcare, technology, and education!

From trying out tools of the trade to asking questions about real-world career paths, students got a hands-on look at what it takes to thrive in these different industries. Students explored opportunities in construction, electrical work, plumbing, automotive, technology, nursing, teaching, and other high-demand fields across New Mexico.  By engaging directly with experienced workers, students heard personal success stories, learned about training programs, and discovered the many routes to building a successful and meaningful future.
