On August 5, 2024, Career Connected Learning (CCL) hosted a CCL/CTE Teacher Professional Development (PD) Day at Manzano High School. During the event, middle and high school teachers explored new resources and career-related programs available to students. CCL collaborated with organizations such as:

Home Builders Association (HBA): sharing information on Career Opportunities in Construction for APS students not interested in college. The HBA offers educational opportunities for high school students such as work-site walk-through, and paid apprenticeship programs for graduated students.

The New Mexico State Fair: sharing information on fundraising opportunities available for student clubs and athletic organizations. The New Mexico State Fair will pay $250 for every 2 hours worked for groups of 10. Groups of students can sign up for multiple shifts/days. Stukent: Career Connected Learning is teaming up with First Financial Credit Union and Stukent to deliver an interactive and engaging Financial Literacy course software. Teachers explored the various features in which students learn the basics of credit, investments, and how to responsibly manage their finances to be better set for life after high school. In breakout rooms teachers discussed the use of their grant money for the year. Programs of study are course sequences that align to post-secondary career opportunities. These programs are intended to prepare students for high demand and high skill careers. Neer Peer Tutor Teacher Advisors attended a short training session with CCL program coordinator George Kerr and student interns Miranda Castaneda and Dylan Robinson reviewing the basics of navigating the payroll system.
