Albuquerque Film + Music Experience (AFME) is coming to Nob Hill, September 25-29, 2024 for five days of film, music, networking, and Center Stage Conversation panels! The AFME Foundation and AFMX offer opportunities to college students interested in film, music, digital arts, administrative roles, event planning, marketing, and production.
Students have the opportunity to participate in:
* Internships, mentorships, and volunteer opportunities
* Personal introductions to talent and industry insiders
* Student film and editing opportunities
* Pitch panels
* Screenplay competitions
AFMX’s Education Deck outlines AFMX goals for student engagement during the festival and throughout the year. We’d like to inform educators about attending the festival and hopefully including our festival in their fall curriculum. We welcome large groups and student tickets are free.

AFMX Student Day 2024 (September 25, 2024): Students are considered an important part of the AFMX experience, with opportunities to learn and grow in a fast-paced, exciting environment. Students are encouraged to attend our festival for FREE. There will be student film blocks, coming-of-age film programming, and a Center Stage Conversation about Film Composing for this day.
Can’t make Student Day? No worries, there are a number of other film blocks and CenterStage Conversations to attend.

Student Volunteers: We are looking for student volunteers to work during the festival, September 25-29. AFMX structures its festival to mimic many real-life professional film and music scenarios. This is a great way for students to use their skills as a lateral move to their next opportunity. If you are wanting to add to your logistical, editing, music/sound, marketing and camera skills, please contact us at info@afmxnm.com or go to https://www.afmxnm.com/volunteer. Experience or familiarity is helpful but not required.

AFMX's Short Screenplay competition: Have a short script you'd like to submit? The deadline is August 15 at 11:59pm MST and open only to NM residents. Screenwriters can submit their work through FilmFreeway: https://filmfreeway.com/AFMXnm.
Semifinalists will be notified by August 30, 2024. Semifinalists will receive a complimentary all-access Festival Pass to the Spotlight Event, which runs September 25-29, 2024.

AFMX 2024 Perfecting Your Pitch Panel: Back by popular demand! Albuquerque Film & Media Experience and Albuquerque Film & Media Incubator present the Center Stage Conversation, Perfecting Your Pitch Panel, where five semi-finalists will practice pitching their stories to Hollywood executives and producers, and receive feedback on the pitch. NM Filmmakers are highly encouraged to participate in this opportunity! This is great practice to present your dream project and get professional, constructive and positive feedback!
