The Security Assessment & Implementation Committee (SAIC) oversees the implementation and coordination of APS security systems under the Integrated Security System Project (ISSP).
Security Assessment & Implementation Committee (SAIC)
The Security Assessment & Implementation Committee (SAIC) is an interdepartmental committee that facilitates the implementation, standardization, alignment, coordination, and consolidation of all Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) security systems and policies comprising the APS Integrated Security System Project (ISSP).
SAIC is comprised of APS leadership and functional experts from APS departments, including:
- APS School Police
- APS Student, Family, and Community Supports
- APS Risk Management
- APS Capital Master Plan
- APS Facilities Design and Construction
- APS Informational Technology
- APS Maintenance and Operations
The SAIC committee performs the tasks of prioritizing and implementing all district security projects through three processes:
- Security Hardware & Protocol Development
- Implementation, Installation, and Maintenance of the following five hardware categories:
- Cameras and Alarm Systems
- Card Access
- Door Locks
- Fencing and Gates
- Security Vestibules
- Clearinghouse for all security hardware implementation requests
