Kindergarten through 5th Grade Fun Friday

  • 8 to 9 a.m., Physical Education – Striking Skills:
    Get moving with “Wipe Out” drumming; practice striking with a short-handled implement. Suggested materials: Balloon, paper plate, glue, popsicle stick, plastic baggies
  • 9 to 10 a.m., Art – A Day at the Beach:
    Make a collage of your feet in the sand at the beach. Suggested materials: Glue, scissors, white paper; Colored paper: blue, purple, green, tan, brown (or markers to make colored paper)
  • 10 to 11 a.m., Music – Down by the Bay:
    Explore the ways that music can remind us of the ocean with movement, games, and songs in English and Spanish. Suggested materials and resources: Scarves, Found sounds (household items such as spoons, sticks, cans, etc.), Kids Take Action Against Ocean Plastic, Row, Row, Row Your Boat in Spanish
  • 11 a.m. to noon, Fun Friday – Pet Care:
    A local family introduces their pets and gives pointers for keeping all sorts of pets happy and healthy.
