Thanks for Your Support!

Superintendent Reedy thanks employees for their support of the bond and mill levy referendum.

We did it, and we have you to thank. I want to personally thank you for supporting the bond and mill levy referendum.

Approval of the bond request will allow us to immediately begin improving our schools and creating better opportunities for all our students and staff. This election was especially important because the six-year public-school capital improvements tax designated to cover urgent repairs has been exhausted. Had the bond and mill levy measures been rejected, we would have been forced to use operational classroom dollars to pay for pressing capital needs.

Thankfully, our community has voted to support our students. We can now move forward on projects that immediately impact every student and school in the district, such as

  • Fixing leaky roofs
  • Improving heating and cooling systems
  • Removing lead from aging pipes to ensure safe drinking water
  • Making schools welcoming to all by adding wheelchair ramps and accessible bathrooms
  • Purchasing musical instruments and art equipment
  • Enhancing school security
  • Renovating classrooms

As you probably know, the referendum will not raise your taxes or be used for central office salaries. Your $290 million investment in our schools will go a long way in meeting our most basic needs while delivering excellent education experiences in all of our schools.
