Thank You, APS

Superintendent Reedy's Thanksgiving message to employees.

Here we are, already a third of the way through the school year and on the edge of the holiday season. I delight in this time of year when, as leaves and temperatures fall, we reflect upon all we are grateful for.

If you are like me, that includes family and friends.

My prayer for you is that it includes health and happiness, too.

My hope is that you also appreciate the colleagues you work alongside, the students you work for, the opportunity you have to contribute to the future of our community.

I sure do.

During this season of thanks, I want to express my gratitude for the employees of Albuquerque Public Schools who show up, work hard, give, listen, care, and make a difference.

This isn’t an easy profession. I know. I’ve been doing it for four decades. It can be exhausting, which is why I am glad we have a few days off next week.

Enjoy that time. Get some rest. Try not to eat too much.

And when you’re sitting at a lively table waiting for the turkey and mashed potatoes to be passed or enjoying a quiet meal at home, remember how much you mean to your APS family. This is a big operation, but we all play an essential role. Know that your contribution is appreciated. Thanks for what you do.
