JL4 School-Linked and School-Based Health Services Clinics (Archived)

The Board of Education authorizes and supports the operation of school-linked and school-based health services clinics to provide students with health care.

Direct funding for the school-linked and school-based health services shall not be provided from the Albuquerque Public Schools operational budget.   Schools may be asked to determine the availability of and access to space, supplies, equipment, and other in-kind support for school-linked and school-based health services.

Independent health care providers, who are qualified under applicable state standards to provide services, may provide school-linked and school-based health services as outlined in administrative procedural directive.  Parents/legal guardians may decline school-linked and/or school-based health clinic services for their child.

These independent health care providers do not operate under the governance of the district.  Birth control devices and medication shall not be dispensed by Albuquerque Public Schools.
