IH5 Special Services in Delivery of Instruction Revised September 2017

Special services shall be made available when possible and when those services are a reasonable accommodation for the improvement of the instructional program and to assist students to complete the Albuquerque Public Schools instructional program.

The superintendent, or his/her designee, shall maintain a long-term medical absences instructional program for students K-12 who are unable to attend classes at their school of record for ten (10) or more consecutive school days due to a medical injury or illness.  Schools shall immediately inform the parents/legal guardians of a student who qualifies to receive instruction through this program when the school is made aware of a student’s extended absence due to a medical injury or illness.
