Lucinda Sanchez is the Associate Superintendent for Special Education for the Albuquerque Public Schools. She has been with APS for 29 years and was appointed to oversee special education for the district in October 2015. In her time with the District, she has served as an elementary school principal, coordinator for related services in special education, coordinator for elementary counseling services, and a cluster leader principal for the Eldorado Cluster. Sanchez has also held a number of other district-level positions.

She holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of South Dakota and a master's in educational administration from the University of New Mexico. She holds a bachelor's degree in education/psychology from Yankton College in South Dakota.
