4 Finalists Selected for Superintendent Job

The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education selected four finalists on Feb. 5 for the superintendent’s job following three days of interviews.

The finalists, chosen from a semifinalist pool of six, are:

Finalists will be interviewed a second time by the Board and will have an opportunity to respond to community questions in a virtual public forum in the coming weeks. The community will have an opportunity beforehand to submit potential questions to ask the finalists during the forum.

The Board has committed to making the superintendent search process as public and transparent as possible despite the challenges of the pandemic.

The Board hopes to announce the new superintendent by mid-to-late March and have that person assume the job on July 1.

The job will be even more challenging as the district prepares to reopen schools to all students, return to some semblance of normalcy, and resume the teaching and learning pace practiced prior to the pandemic.

Information about the superintendent search, including a general timeline, is posted to the APS Superintendent Search website and will be updated as necessary when any changes are made.
