Why do you want to be a board member for Albuquerque Public Schools?

I want to make a difference in our education system in Albuquerque.

What is your interest in education?

I believe it is essential to success for children and important to everyone in society.

In what ways will you support the mission and vision of the district?


How will you work with the superintendent?

I believe everyone should work together for the best results of the district and students.

What is your past and current involvement with Albuquerque Public Schools?

My daughter is in 1st grade at Zia Elementary School in the Spanish program.

What should be the relationship between the superintendent and Board of Education?

They should work together for the district to get things done.

What qualities and skills would you bring to the Board of Education?

I have a strong background working with all types of people.  I am a great leader and listener.

What school or community volunteer activities have you participated in related to the community?

I volunteered for my daughters pre-school with bake sales, community fund raising.

How do you plan to work with constituents?


What do you see as opportunities and challenges to the district?

Teachers frustrations with administration.  Not enough teachers.

What do you think is the best way for the district to accomplish the Superintendent’s Big Five?

Work with community schools to get parents and community involvement.  Develop new programs that target these five areas.

If elected, how will you work with the current board?

I will listen and learn from their past experience and work together to get positive results.
