Albuquerque Public Schools will have an election on November 2023, to elect members of the Board of Education in school board Districts 1, 2, and 4.
Important Dates
- August 9: APS Candidate Orientation (Alice and Bruce King Educational Complex at 6400 Uptown Blvd NE) (5 p.m.)
- August 29, 2023: School Board Declaration of Candidacy with County Clerk (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
- September 5, 2023: Date to file Declaration of Write-In Candidate with County Clerk (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
- September 5, 2023: Deadline to Withdraw as a Candidate
- September 25, 2023: APS Forum for District 1, 2, and 4 Candidates from 5-7 p.m. at the Alice and Bruce King Educational Complex at 6400 Uptown Blvd NE
- October 10, 2023: Early Voting Begins
- October 10, 2023: Deadline to Register to Vote in the November 2023 Election [except for those who register or update registration at voting locationprior to voting: NMSA 1978, secion 1-4-8 (A)]
- November 4, 2023: Last Day to Vote Early
- November 7, 2023: School Board Election Day
If elected to the Board of Education:
- November 30 - December 2, 2023: New Mexico School Boards Association's Annual Convention, a state-mandated training in Santa Fe for newly elected school board members
- January 1, 2023: Term of office begins if elected
- January 2023: Swearing-in ceremony
- January 2023: Organizational APS Board of Education meeting
- February 2023: New Mexico School Boards Association's Board Member Institute
