Newly Adopted School Board Maps
Maps were newly adopted at the Dec. 7, 2022 Board of Education Meeting, and are effective as of January 2024.
Redistricting Committee Meetings
Redistricting Committee meetings are open to everyone. You can watch the meetings live on the APS YouTube Channel.
How to Participate In Community Input
Public input will be taken at the meetings. Sign-Up for Community Input at the redistricting committee meetings. You also can weigh in by emailing boarded@aps.edu with comments and ideas.
These committee meetings will be recorded and videos will be available online. If you want to share your comments and ideas about the redistricting concept plans, but are unable to watch the meetings, you may review the recordings and send your input to boarded@aps.edu. Your comments will be forwarded to committee members for their consideration.

- Thursday, September 8, 5:30 p.m.: Organizational Meeting
- Tuesday, September 13, 5:30 p.m.
- Thursday, September 29, 5:30 p.m.
- Thursday, October 13, 5:30 p.m.: In-person in the John Milne Community Board Room at 6400 Uptown Blvd NE
- Tuesday, October 25, 5:30 p.m.: In-person in the John Milne Community Board Room at 6400 Uptown Blvd NE - Vote on recommended plan or plans
Redistricting Process Timeline
August 2022
- August 1, 2022: General overview of redistricting presented to APS Board of Education
- August 2022: Redistricting committee members selected
September and October 2022
- September to October 2022: Present concepts to the committee during public meetings, solicit feedback from the community
- October 2022: Committee recommends a concept or concepts to the Board of Education
- October 25, 2022: The APS Redistricting Committee will vote on a concept(s) on October 25, 2022 and provide its recommendations for the map concepts to the Board of Education early November 2022.
November and December 2022
- November to December 2022: APS Board of Education discusses recommended concepts, revisions
- December 2022: APS Board of Education adopts a concept, either a recommendation, modified recommendation or new concept. The Board of Education will select and approve in the final redistricting concept that is in the best interest for the students of Albuquerque Public Schools.
November 2023
Elections using newly adopted districts will begin in November of 2023.
2022 APS Redistricting Committee
The APS Redistricting Committee is a citizen’s committee of individuals selected by members of the APS Board of Education. Two residents from each of the seven school board districts, 14 total, serve on the committee. Learn more about the APS Redistricting Committee Members.
