Minutes of Special Board of Education Meeting
Albuquerque Public Schools
A Special Board of Education meeting of Albuquerque Public Schools was held Wednesday, August 28, 2013, beginning at 7:30 a.m., in the DeLayo Martin Community Room, Alice and Bruce King Educational Complex, 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE.
I. Call to Order
A. Adoption of the August 28, 2013, Board of Education Meeting Agenda (Discussion/Action)
Dr. Peercy motioned to adopt the agenda. Steven Michael Quezada seconded the motion. Board members unanimously adopted the agenda.
II. Consideration for Approval to Convene in Executive Session Pursuant to the Open Meetings Act NMSA 1978 (§ 10-15-1 (H)(7)) for the Purpose of Discussing Pending Litigation: M. L. Lucero, a minor child, R.L Lucero, a minor child, and Keith Lucero, Individually and on behalf of his minor children, Plaintiffs, vs. Arthur Limon, in his individually capacity, Christopher Pargas, in his individually capacity, Karen Sanchez-Griego, in her official capacity and Albuquerque Public Schools, Defendants, Case No. D-202-CV-2012-04516 and Michael Baldonado and Keli-Derscj Baldonado v Albuquerque Public Schools, Case No. D-202-CV-2011-05409 (Action)
Dr. Peercy motioned to convene in executive session. Steven Michael Quezada seconded the motion. Vice President Korte requested a roll-call vote, which resulted in agreement of board members to convene in executive session for the purpose of discussing pending litigation.
III. Reconvene to Open Session
The meeting reconvened in open session at 7:49 a.m.
IV. Statement of Closure
President Esquivel stated that the APS Board of Education met in executive session on August 28, 2013, for the purpose of discussing pending litigation. The matters discussed in the executive session were limited only to those specified.
V. Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 7:54 a.m.
