Important Notice About Upcoming Meetings

In light of the Public Health Order due to the Covid-19 virus, APS is taking extra precautions with necessary meetings.  Effective April 7, 2021, Board of Education members will participate in the board meetings in person.  Meeting participants, including presenters, recognition guests, public forum speakers, and the public will continue to attend meetings virtually.  The agenda items will be kept to urgent business or those items needing approval to conduct district business.

A Special meeting of the Board of Education of Albuquerque Public Schools was held
Monday, July 16, 20 J 2, beginning at 8: J 5 a.m., in the DeLayo Martin Community Room, Alice
and Bruce King Educational Complex, 6400 Uptown NE.
I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:36 a.m.
A. Roll Call
Present: Analee Maestas, Kathy Korte, Lorenzo Garcia, Marty Esquivel, Paula
Maes, David Peercy (by telephone), and David Robbins
B. Adoption of the July I 6, 2012, Special Meeting Agenda ( Discussion/Action)
David Robbins motioned for adoption of the agenda. Lorenzo Garcia
seconded the motion. Board members adopted the July J 6, 20 I 2, Special Board of Education
meeting agenda.
II. Consideration for Approval to Convene in Executive Session Pursuant to the Open
Meetings Act NMSA 1978 (§ 10-15-1 (H)(7)) for the Purpose of Discussing Threatened
Litigation: Mary A Lopez vs. APS (Action)
Analee Maestas motioned to adjourn into executive session. David Peercy seconded
the motion. President Maes requested a roll call vote, which resulted in agreement of board
members to convene in executive session for the purpose of discussing threatened litigation:
Mary A. Lopez vs. APS. The meeting was held in executive session in the DeLayo Martin
Community room beginning at 7:57 a.m.
III. Reconvene to Open Session
The meeting reconvened in open session at 8: J 5 a.m.
IV. Statement of Closure
President Maes stated that the APS Board of Education met in executive session on
July 16, 20 I 2, to discuss threatened litigation and the matters discussed in the executive
session were limited only to those specified.
v. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 a.m.
