High School Science Teacher

Native American Community Academy is currently seeking to fill their open High School Science Teacher position.

Job Overview

NACA is seeking a teacher who is eager to inspire students and join a professional, dynamic, and collaborative community. The NACA science experience prepares students to fulfill roles in their perspective community by offering a rigorous college and career focus toward STEM pathways. Our courses are intended to be both college-preparatory and hands-on, integrating problem solving skills with real world applications in alignment with New Mexico STEM Ready Science standards. NACA utilizes the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework in which teachers plan units guided by big ideas and understandings to drive toward deep understanding demonstrated through authentic performance assessments. Experience or related experiences working in Native American communities or school settings is preferred.

Required Skills

  • New Mexico Teaching License
  • Bachelors in secondary education with a focus in science and/or a related degree of study specific to content area of teacher certification
