Health Leadership High School is currently seeking to fill their open 1/2 Instructional Coach-1/2 Senior Capstone Teacher position for grades 9-12

Job Overview

This is a full-time position housed at the school campus. The Instructional Coach and CWP Capstone educator is a dual role position. The Capstone Instructor is tasked with
direct instruction through Senior Capstone and programmatic build-out and
oversight. Capstone experience at HLHS entails a health sector-based curriculum to support individual passion projects. These passion projects require individualized and group coaching, mentorship, guidance, and teaching. The Instructional Coach works closely with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (CIA Director) and functions in a leadership role to ensure that teachers are prepared to provide the highest quality instruction to every student. This includes the development, implementation, and assessment of hands-on, project-based “learning by doing” that is deeply connected to community partners in the fields of health and wellness.

Required Skills

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Current NMPED Level II Teaching License and/or Level III-B Administrative License
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of teaching experience
  • Previous experience with project-based learning and related innovative pedagogical models
  • Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current NMPED Level III-B Administrative License
  • Current NMPED Level III-A Teaching License
  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • 2-3 years of experience as an instructional leader as an instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, or other school leader position
  • 3-5 years of experience working with underserved youth in the Albuquerque community
  • Bilingual
  • Experience working with diverse and multicultural learners
  • Science and/or Math endorsement
  • Modern and Classical language(s) endorsement
  • Special Education License
