Ruth O'Gawa and the La Vida Llena Community

Ms. O'Gawa and the La Vida Llena community were recognized for their support of APS homeless students.

• Ruth O'Gawa is a community volunteer at La Vida Llena Retirement Community.
• She has been bringing donations that are collected by the residents of La Vida Llena throughout the year.
• Ruth has collected and donated blankets, cups, and silverware to furnish approximately 20 apartments for families that have found housing.
• She recently collected 18 bushel baskets of hygiene products and $7,000 in monetary donations.
• Ruth believes strongly in the work done to help McKinney-Vento families, and she donates treats to the staff in an effort to thank them for their ongoing work and dedication.
• She and the residents of La Vida Llena are a truly appreciated community partner.
• Thank you to the La Vida Llena community and Ms. O'Gawa for your exceptional support of homeless students in Albuquerque Public Schools.
