Junior ROTC CyberPatriot Teams

La Cueva High School, Manzano High School, Highland High School, Sandia High School, and Albuquerque High School JROTC Teams were recognized for receiving awards at the Cyber Patriot XIII Competition.

CyberPatriot is a national youth cyber education program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. At the core of the program is the CyberPatriot competition. The CyberPatriot XIII competition season began in November 2020 with 4,800 registered teams.  After multiple rounds of rigorous online challenges, the Open Division and All Service Division teams were divided into three tiers: Platinum, Gold, and Silver. The teams then competed within their tiers for state awards and the top Platinum tier teams were eligible to advance to the National Finals.

The La Cueva Marine Corps JROTC Cyber Bears Silver team won the first place state award in the platinum tier of the All Service Division.  The La Cueva Marine Corps JROTC Cyber Bears Blue team won the second place state award in the platinum tier of the All Service Division. The Manzano Navy JROTC Monarch 2 team won the third-place state award in the All Service Division and the first place tier award in the gold tier. The Highland Navy JROTC team won the second place tier award in the gold tier of the All Service Division. The Sandia Air Force JROTC team won the third place tier award in the silver tier of the All Service Division. The Albuquerque Army JROTC Cyberdawgs team won the second place state award in the platinum tier of the Open Division.

Congratulations to these exceptional students and their instructors!
