Four Board Members

Board Members Peggy Muller-Aragon, Candelaria Patterson, Dr. David Peercy, and Barbara Petersen were recognized for receiving the New Mexico School Boards Association’s Exemplary Award.

The New Mexico School Boards Association’s Leadership Development Program is a multi-level training and recognition program designed to assist local school board members in effectively addressing their increasingly complex demands and changing roles.  Conducted in conjunction with regular New Mexico School Boards Association conferences, regional meetings, and other designated activities, the program offers a dynamic curriculum that focuses upon current issues, needs and trends, certification as a Master Board Member and interim achievement levels all possible within two years, an opportunity for trained experienced board members to assist new board members or local boards in gaining constructive and productive leadership skills, and a way to promote the highest level of knowledge and skills among local school board members in New Mexico.  Award points are awarded for attendance at independent studies, local board meetings, New Mexico School Boards Association general sessions, workshops, and region meetings, national association meetings, and New Mexico School Boards Association and National School Boards Association committees.  Board Members Peggy Muller-Aragon, Candelaria Patterson, Dr. David Peercy, and Barbara Petersen each received the New Mexico School Boards Association’s Exemplary Award.  Congratulations to each of you!
