Peggy Candelaria, Penelope Buschardt, Rebecca Arellano, Nancy Davenport, Tina Martinez, Dale Hagin, Jessica Borkowski from Title 1, and Chelanna Carter and Melissa ReidCiferri from School, Family, and Community Supports were recognized for their work

Ongoing research shows that family engagement in schools improves student achievement, reduces absenteeism, and builds relationships.  With that in mind, a team from Title 1 and the Student, Family and Community Engagement Division hosted a Family Engagement Institute last spring focused on engaging every family within the school community.  More than 300 people attended from 60 schools, seven APS district departments, and seven charter schools. In addition, three other school districts participated.  Pictured is the planning team during the institute. Congratulations to Peggy Candelaria, Penelope Buschardt, Rebecca Arellano, Nancy Davenport, Tina Martinez, Dale Hagin, Jessica Borkowski from Title 1, and Chelanna Carter and Melissa ReidCiferri from School, Family, and Community Supports!
