Bilingual Multicultural Education Program Award

Eight APS schools were recognized for winning Bilingual Multicultural Education Program Awards from the New Mexico Public Education Department.

Sixteen New Mexico schools with Bilingual Multicultural Education Programs met and/or exceeded statutory goals for bilingualism and biliteracy and were recently honored by the New Mexico Public Education Department. Five of the eleven schools named Bilingual Multicultural Education Program Recognition Award Schools were APS schools.  These schools have demonstrated qualitative and quantitative evidence of Bilingual Multicultural Education Programs' success.  Congratulations to:  Eugene Field Elementary, Pajarito Elementary, Coronado Elementary, Emerson Elementary, and Kit Carson Elementary.

Three of the five schools named Bilingual Multicultural Education Program Excellence Award School were APS schools.  These schools have been awarded recognition in the past three years and were recognized for consistent effectiveness, exemplary programs, and outstanding academic achievement. Congratulations to: Albuquerque High School, West Mesa High School, Dolores Gonzales Elementary.  New Mexico International School, an APS charter school, was also named an Excellence Award school.
