APS Board of Education

The powers of the Board of Education lie in its action as a public body. Members of the board are public officials, but they have no authority or power individually. The Board of Education:

The board and its individual members do not address personnel issues other than those related specifically to the superintendent.

Board Meetings

APS Board of Education meetings are now posted to an external public site: APS.diligent.community. The site provides a meeting calendar, agendas, minutes, meeting videos, past meetings, and more.  

2024 Meetings

  • Board of Education: First and third Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Alice and Bruce King Educational Complex (APS administration building), 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE 
  • Finance Committee: Fourth Wednesday of the month at 8 a.m. virtually
  • Audit Committee: Fourth Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. virtually as needed and/or required by law
  • Policy Committee: First Monday of every other month virtually
  • Special Meetings, ad hoc committees, and discussion groups are scheduled as needed

All meetings subject to the New Mexico Open Meetings Act are livestreamed on the APS Board of Education YouTube Channel.
