The APS App and your School Website

How does the APS app interact with your school's website, and what information is featured in the app?

 

Download the APS App:

  1. Search for “Albuquerque Public Schools” in the AppStore or Play Store
  2. Download the app for free

 

Functionality:

  1. One or multiple schools can be added to the users favorites list.
  2. View the Lunch Menu, Activities, News, Events, Alerts and Transportation information for the specific school.
  3. Content from the homepage News Element get's sent to the News section of the app.
  4. Content from the homepage Calendar Element get's sent to the Events section of the app.
  5. Content from the Activities/Clubs Calendar Element get's sent to the Activities section of the app.
    • For high schools, the Activities section of the app will feature entries from the Tandem calendar of the appropriate school

 

Considerations:

  1. What kind and how many posts should get posted to the homepage news
  2. Don't duplicate events, or submit events from the activities calendar to the homepage calendar.
  3. Don't delete the following three elements form your website:
    • Homepage News
    • Homepage Calendar
    • Clubs/Activities Calendar
  4. Don't delete, re-name or move the Clubs/Activities section on your website.
