APS Names Principals at 13 Elementary Schools, Two Mid-Schools
The Albuquerque Public Schools has named new principals at 13 elementary schools and two middle schools in the district for the 2012-13 school year.
May 29 is Last Day for Albuquerque Public Schools Students
The last day of school for Albuquerque Public Schools students is Tuesday, May 29. This makes up for the school day that was cancelled because of snow and poor driving conditions on Monday, Dec. 5.
APS Board of Education Approves 2012-2013 Budget
The district will continue to look for ways to cover a $5 million shortfall.

Phase Two

The following schools have been chosen to participate in the second round of migrations in to School Loop, based on need, enthusiasm, quadrant, and board district:

  • Albuquerque High, which is looking forward to more interactivity between its site and other APS websites.
  • Atrisco Elementary, which doesn't have a website at all.
  • Bandelier Elementary
    LAUNCHED on May 23, 2012
    Bandelier was paying too much for their classroom sites, and wanted a way to display district news and events more easily.
  • Dolores Gonzales Elementary
    LAUNCHED on May 7, 2012
    A group of parents worked hard to gather material and make the site a useful parent portal.
  • Eisenhower Middle
    LAUNCHED on May 17, 2012
    Eisenhower was paying way too much for their school website.
  • Grant Middle
    LAUNCHED on May 21, 2012
    Grant had outgrown its free Google Site and was excited to do the work to migrate their site into the new tool.
  • Highland High, which is having a hard time updating its current site.
  • Jefferson Middle
    LAUNCHED on April 11, 2012
    Tech guy Blake Learmonth and Business Technology Teacher Laurie Harris created their new site and were the first DIY school to migrate their content into the new tool.
  • John Baker Elementary
    LAUNCHED on May 25, 2012
    They were excited to get a new site were paying too much for their current website.
  • Juvenile Detention Center
    LAUNCHED on April 23, 2012
    They were paying too much for their old site, and were excited to move into a tool that had more flexibility.
  • La Luz Elementary

    They didn't have a website at all and are excited about their new site.
  • Lavaland Elementary

    They were enthusiastic to get a new site!
  • MacArthur Elementary

    They did not have a website at all.

    As the district's high-tech magnet elementary, Zuni was eager to be an early-adopter.
